40th Class Reunion

Attention: Reunion Details Update 6/5/20

Hello classmates, we all know things are still a little crazy, however, our 40th class reunion is still on!!!! We are hoping by September COVID19 restrictions will be lifted. As we get closer we will send notifications if there are any changes for the reunion.

RSVP: Please let us know by RSVP on the web site or on the Facebook Group Germantown1980 We understand that it is not a guarantee with the COVID19 situation but it will help us get an idea how many are coming.

We are hoping for an even bigger turn out than the last one. If you have any ideas on something you would like to see or do that night, let us know. As always, we welcome any help! It takes a lot of effort to put a reunion on and any help would be appreciated. As of now there are only five of us. You all have skills that are useful, please share them. We need help in the following areas but are not limited to:

Decorations – if you have any memorabilia or decorations you could share that would be awesome. This is a big hit at all of the reunions.
Setup – TBA
Greeters – We need a few people to rotate at the enterance to hand out name tags and collect updated information. If you can commit for an hour that would be great.
Clean Up – Help taking decorations down
Donations towards our class web site are welcome also. It costs $100 per year to maintain it.

There will be NOT be a mail out. Information will be sent via social media which includes Facebook Group/ Germantown1980, Instant Messagener, our class website and by word of mouth. Details will be updated along the way.

While you’re on our website, take the time to add or update your bio. We have been told this is the favorite portion of the web page. Another option is go to our class Facebook page at Facebook/Germantown1980. Please register, this will give us an idea how to prepare. The poll helps us decide the things we are arrangeing for your Class Reunion. Pass this along to those you know that might not be on Social Media.

Please don’t assume others are aware of the reunion date.
Many we have talked to said they were waiting for a mail out. A mail out costs over $200 and we don’t have the funds. Plus everyone knows someone with internet to look it up. Please pass the date along!

Class committee COVID19 viewpoint:
We have discussed this thoroughly as a committee and ran through all scenario's that we could think of. The conclusion was if the COVID19 changes and gets worse we can always postpone it. We have plenty of time to keep an eye on this. There are many of us that need to make travel plans now. For now we felt the majority of classmates want to plan for it, but keep a close eye on it. Unfortunately some of us may have a compromised health condition that may prevent you from attending. For those that have a condition and want to be part of the reunion, we will have to be creative. We are open to suggestions and solutions. FYI, we welcome people to join the committee.
